I'm rather unsure about this, as Colin said if it does exist, then it should be easy to prove - my 'mantra' is not to think about it, and live this life to the full. That way, if life after death doesn't exist I need not regret the missed opportunities.

When people say there has to be something more than this, it always makes me chuckle. We are so good at ignoring what we have and what we are. We are quite probably alone as sentient beings in the Universe. We have been given the gift of life by the cosmos. We are lucky to be iving in a era where we have evolved longer lives than even 200 yrs before. But thats just not enough for most people. Bit sad really. Typically human though. Chances are if you won the lottery you wouldnt still be thinking theres more to life than this...because we are fickle and easily distracted. No wonder Religion caught on once.

Not quite sure how it works, But I think it is the TAOist movement that think that we have either seven or nine levels of attainment. On each life we are given a task to learn, when we die our energy chi or whatever goes on to the next level, If we have not learned our lesson we must carry on till we do.And then we are given our next lesson to learn etc etc.
As I say not quite sure how it works but that's religion for you....

If we could prove life after death there would be no death thereby removing the need to prove anything Glasshopper.

We are all part of the all singing all dancing compost heap that is earth and completely random, no purpose at all.

I don't think we need to prove it. There must be something after this life. How can it be, that we are born, live our lives (making mistakes along the way and making up for them and hopefully learning by them)and then died! For what reason? What's the purpose of it all? I dont know what i beleive right at this moment in time, but there HAS to be something more than this!!

One of the basic laws of physics is the law of conservation of energy, which states that energy can not be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another so with that in mind nothing ever truely dies, every living organisms energy is just transferred into another as we decompose. You will always get some hippy going on about near death experiences and white lights, tunnels, euphoric feelings and out of body experiences, but thats been proved to be nothing more than our brains entering a dream like state when it finally shuts down.

My thoughts too Col. We can prove most other things but not this.

If it exists then it should be possible to prove it. The fact that we haven't yet proved it says a great deal to me.
